Change WiFi credentials for device within the app for all devices

31 votes (100%), priority index: 4.52

As you all can see the most popular desired new feature is the “Change WiFi credentials for device within the app for all devices”. eWeLink already implemented this feature for power monitoring devices such as the Sonoff POW, Sonoff POW2 and the SA-001 of various brands on eWeLink 4.6.0. On several spots eWeLink told they will extend this feature to more devices in the future. Let’s hope they will be ready with this feature soon.

Use device more than once in a scene on both trigger and action

31 votes (100%), priority index: 4.19

One of the frustrations of scenes were the inability to add more than 1 trigger to scenes. This frustration has finally taken away with the release of eWeLink 4.4.0 which added the ability to define multiple conditions to a scene. People were happy with this new feature but soon they discovered another issue that limits the possibilites of these multiple triggers and also the new delay feature: the inability to add the same device more than once in both the trigger and action. eWeLink is afraid of infinite loops. Other smarthome platforms are appearantly not afraid of that and already allows to add the same device more than once in a scene.

Detect mains power failure

30 votes (96.8%), priority index: 3.97

It seems that some regions have a lot of issues with the mains power lately. The last few weeks a lot of people on social media started to ask whether there is a way to detect power failures with the use of eWeLink devices. Currently there is no such device or feature although the Sonoff MINIR2 (or its predecessor Sonoff MINI) can use any dry contact sensor connected to connectors S1 and S2 and thus provides the ability to build your own power failure detector. A more easy solution is desireable.

Greater duration setting for delay in scenes

30 votes (96.8%), priority index: 3.23

With the overhaul of the scenes function in eWeLink 4.4.0 also the delay action for scenes arrived. A long awaited feature. But unfortunately people soon found out it only delays for a maximum of 59 minutes and 59 seconds. Users found it quite difficult to solve some use case scenario’s. An example could be to automatically turn off a fan or airconditioning at the bedroom 4 hours after switching it on and going to sleep. There are some ugly workarounds but the ability to set a bigger delay would be much better.

App dark mode

30 votes (96.8%), priority index: 3.07

Since eWeLink 4.x.x series came out a lot of complaints about having pain on the eyes when using the app in the evening did flood social media. People liked the blue layout of the eWeLink 3.x.x series. The 4.x.x has a white background. The eWeLink app doesn’t honor the dark mode of the mobile phone and stays white. People really would like to see the app having a dark mode.

Temperatures of monitoring devices on start screen of app

29 votes (93.5%), priority index: 4.03

With the release of the eWeLink 4.x.x series a beloved feature has gone: the ability to see sensor values straight on the start screen of the app. People do ask a lot on all social media for a long time to get this feature back so that they do not have to press an additional time to view their sensordata.

Scene action: toggle power state of device (between on and off)

29 votes (93.5%), priority index: 4.00

The ability to use a toggle in scenes for on/off devices to toggle between the on and off states of a device would save a lot of hassle and scenes for a lot of users. Especially for users who have a “one button device” it is quite difficult to create scenes to toggle another device between the off and on states.

Status website which automatically shows status and outages

29 votes (93.5%), priority index: 3.90

This subject is can be very handy in general but especially when a group of users starts to experience exactly the same kind of issues at the same moment. A system that monitors the correct working all features and server uptimes and then report back the status can be handy to determine an issue is only limited to a specific region or app version or whether it is an bigger issue affecting all users. This website could also be used by eWeLink to announce maintance and expected resolution times.

Support for more brands of camera

29 votes (93.5%), priority index: 3.89

Currently the eWeLink app only supports camera’s of Sonoff, Eachen and the Chinese version of Ezviz camera’s. People would like to add camera’s of other brands too. It could be a great improvement if eWeLink starts to support camera’s that have the well known ONVIF protocol.

Update firmware of all devices at once

29 votes (93.5%), priority index: 3.83

One of the advantages of the eWeLink system is that devices can be held up-to-date quite well. The disadvantage of that system is that if several devices have a firmware update available at the same time you have to updated them by going into the device settings all one by one. It would be great to have a central updating screen which shows which devices have updates and the ability to choose which devices should be updated all in one flow. That page could also contain links to release notes.
