Since about June 2020 it is possible to buy eWeLink Advanced to get increased limits on homes, scenes, shares per devices, etc. It also includes access to IFTTT integrations and the webbased version of eWeLink: eWeLink Web. One of the issues with eWeLink Advanced is people having a phone number to login to eWeLink not able to but eWeLink Advanced. This is because the payment system only accepts email addresses to upgrade. eWeLink was aware of the issue but did not really offer a solution for it so far. This situation was very frustrating for a lot of users.
The good news
Today Facebook user Paolo Magalona Guanco shared a Facebook post in which he explained that he was able to migrate his eWeLink phone number account to an eWeLink email address account with the help of eWeLink support:
Another good news from Ewelink support.
They have successfully migrated my mobile number based account to a new email address based account. All devices and scenes were migrated and working.
I have now upgraded my account to paid subscription. I’m now waiting for my subscription to be processed.

The solution
To try to accomplish the migration for your own account you can do the following:
- Go to the
Profile screen
in the eWeLink app. - Go to
Help & feedback
. - Go to
Feedback
(upper right corner). - Go to
Register/login
. - Go to
Other
. - In the description field fill in your wish to migrate your phone number account to a email address account in order to be able to upgrade to eWeLink Advanced. Include both your phone number which you use to login with to eWeLink and which email address the account should be migrated to.
- Tap
Submit
. - Wait for a confirmation that the message has been sent.
After this lets hope that eWeLink was able to migrate your account.
