How can I arm and disarm my eWeLink RF alarm?

You are here:

When you have a RF bridge you can connect RF sensors to it which act as an alarm trigger. Then a push notification can be send to your mobile phone. Together with automation like scenes and IFTTT you can even let a light go on or maybe trigger a sounding alarm.

One of the things that the RF bridge lacks is a toggle to enable / disable receiving RF sensor signals. People who want to use the RF bridge with RF sensor(s) as an alarm don’t have a nice way to arm / disarm their alarm. Luckily there are a few solutions.

An outlet / plug (like Sonoff S26, V-Tac VT-5017 or Eachen WiFi Mini socket PS-16-NE)

You can put a plug between the mains power socket and the power adapter of the RF bridge. You can operate and/or automate this plug with the eWeLink app. When the plug is off it means you alarm is disarmed. When the plug is on the RF bridge is active and thus your alarm is armed.

Below are a few examples of what you could use. More plugs can be found at the Plugs section of the Device lists and more outlets can be found at the Outlets section of the Device list.

Sonoff Basic RF / Sonoff 4CH PRO

The advantage of a Sonoff Basic RF and Sonoff 4CH PRO is that those device have RF onboard. So you can operate it with a RF remote. In this way it is very easy to arm and disarm your alarm. Your alarm can also be armed and disarmed with the eWeLink app and/or automations.

The disadvantage is that it required extra wires like an extension cable and plugs and sockets attached to it.

Sonoff Micro

Probably one of the smallest and cheapest solutions is the Sonoff Micro. It has an USB A male connector as input and a USB A female connector as output. You can easily place it between the USB power adapter and the USB cable of to the RF bridge. The Sonoff Micro has less supported features but can still be a great solution for arming and disarming your RF alarm.
